Both together is the best approach for your delivery business. The difference is in what stays with you after the order.

How an order reaches you.

There are two routes a hungry person takes to get to you. Either they search a delivery portal for something to eat nearby and find you among twenty others. Or they already know they want to order from you and come straight over: through your own shop or on the phone.

Both routes put an order in the kitchen. The difference is what is left afterwards. For the referral you pay the portal a commission on every order, up to 30 percent of the order value with the big providers in Germany. And the relationship keeps running through the portal: next time they are hungry they open its app, and there you stand among twenty others again.

That is no knock on the portals. Reach is a real service, and for somebody who does not know your place yet the portal is often the only way to find it. The only question is whether that route is still the right one when the same person orders from you for the fifth time.

What your own shop gives you.

Your own online shop turns a guest who found you through a portal into a customer who orders directly from you the next time.

Anyone who orders in your shop is in your system afterwards: with their name, their address and what they ordered last. When they call the next time, they are no stranger. Every order and every call updates the contact on its own, including the numbers that never ordered in the shop. And next time they do not have to type their address again.

Your menu, your prices, your delivery times and your delivery area: in your own shop you decide those, and a change is live right away. The shop knows your opening hours and closes on its own. When an ingredient runs out, every dish that needs it shows as sold out immediately. On the phone and on the kitchen display it is the same menu.

And the revenue: every euro from your own shop stays with you.

The same order, two routes.

Why you do not have to pick one.

  1. The portal stays where it is.

The commission costs you real money, and that is not a detail. For the reach behind it, it is still often worth the price: a portal brings you guests who do not know your place yet. Treat it as what it is, advertising you pay for per order, and decide from there.

  2. Your own shop comes alongside it.

It runs under your name, at your own address on the web, with your logo and your colours. Your customers order in the browser or put it on their home screen and have it like an app from then on, with no app store.

  3. You show your regulars the short way.

The flyer in the bag, the sign on the counter, the menu on the wall: wherever your name is, your own web address can stand next to it. Anyone who has ordered from you twice will find you directly on the third time.

  4. At the end of the month you see what your own shop brings in.

Revenue today, this week, this month, always compared with the period before it, plus orders per day and your bestsellers. It counts everything that runs through your system: shop, phone and counter.

Common questions about your own shop and delivery portals.

Do I have to cancel my delivery portal once I have my own shop?

No. Plenty of businesses run both side by side: the portal for new guests, their own shop for the ones who come back. ORDERBOSS does not ask you to drop anything.

How high is the commission on a delivery portal?

That depends on the portal and on your contract. The big providers in Germany go up to 30 percent of the order value for every order they refer. The binding number is in your own contract and nowhere else.

What does your own shop cost at ORDERBOSS?

The shop is part of ORDERBOSS and costs nothing on top. You pay a monthly subscription, cancel anytime, no setup fee. Which plan fits your business is something we work out with you personally before you commit.

What happens to the customer data from my orders?

It sits in your system: address, order history, preferences, including numbers that never ordered in the shop. Several addresses per customer, no duplicates.

Is your own shop worth it with only a few orders a day?

Yes. The shop takes orders while you are at the oven or out on a route, whenever you are open, without anyone having to answer the phone. Nothing gets retyped, the order is in your system right away.

Which businesses is this for?

For delivery services that deliver themselves and want more direct orders: pizzerias, kebab shops, Asian kitchens, fast food places. Five orders an evening or two hundred.
